Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an explicit picture quality in such a manner as causes dot gaps to be densely colored on a heat-sensitive recording sheet, by a method wherein reed electrodes are arranged in a zigzag at both sides of a common electrode, and they are arranged so that they overlap on their respective extension lines. CONSTITUTION:Given heating resistances 7 are heated by applying voltage to reed electrodes 6 at a side A and a beltlike common electrode 8. When, with this, heating resistances 7 at a side B are positioned at heating dot gaps, voltage is applied to reed electrodes 6 at a side B and the beltlike common electrode 8. The reed electrodes 6 at the side A and the reed electrodes 6 at the side B are located so as to overlap to each other, and thereby coloring dots become dense in a main scanning direction to obtain an explicit picture quality. The reed electrodes 6 are arranged in a zigzag but the heating resistances 7 are formed in a separation, which results in an easy printing process and permits the protection against the occurrence of systematic uneveness due to a current leakage produced in the beltlike heater.
