Abstract

PURPOSE:To cause to the ink to fly correctly and thereby to produce a high-quality print by a method wherein recording electrode needles, a front-side control electrode, a recording paper and a back-side electrode are arranged in this order, and voltages are applied between the electrodes so that the potential gradients are in the same direction. CONSTITUTION:The front-side control electrode 6 consisting of two sheets of electrodes oppositely arranged so as to form a slit-shaped opening therebetween is placed between the plural recording electrode needles 1 and the back-side electrode 7, and the recording paper 4 is placed between the front-side control electrode 6 and back- side electrode 7. While constantly applying a predetermined voltage between the control electrode 6 and the back-side electrode 7, a pulse-form voltage is impressed between the desired one of the recording electrode needles 1 and the control electrode 6 so as to create therebetween a potential gradient in the same direction as that present between the control electrode 6 and the back-side electrode 7, whereby the ink 2 is caused to fly and deposite on the predetermined position of the surface 5 of the recording paper 4.
