Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the instability of the jet of ink and also the displacement of the position of picture element as well as the occurrence of reversing by slightly lagging the timing of actuator of the closest adjacent electrode of a number of electrodes provided inside a slitlike ink jet nozzle. CONSTITUTION:A number of electrodes 3 are provided inside of an ink jet nozzle 1 for recording head. By selectively applying a high-voltage pulse according to the picture signal between the elecrodes 3 and an electrode 4 on a recording paper 5 side, ink in the jet nozzle 1 is selectively jetted for recording. In an electrostatic acceleration type jet recorder having such a system, the timing of operation of the closest adjacent electrode is slightly lagged. In this case, because it takes a long period of time to record in case where all of the electrodes are orderly selected, all the electrodes 3 are divided into several blocks, as shown in Fig., and then selection is made concurrently and sequentially for each block, thus permitting the time of recording to be shortened.
