Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain printing of high quality through the entire equalization of thermal distribution by applying a polygonal form of a heating resistor and dividing the resistor into plural segments. CONSTITUTION:On an insulator (base) 2 hexagonal heating resistots 13 together with conductor-leads 4 for feeding the former are formed by the screen-printing method and the like. One hexagonal heating resistor 13 consists of three parallelogram segments 13a-13c, which are insulated to a considerable degree. To one side of the segments 13a and 13b is connected the conductor-lead 4, while the other side opposed thereto being connected with the opposed two sides of the segment 13c through another conductor-lead 14, thereby the current density of each segment being equalized. The thermal distribution of the hexagonal heating resistor 13 is thus equalized almost overall, printed characters being formed successfylly by hexabonal dots.
