Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the facilities for boring and cutting and to save labor, by subjecting both surfaces of a thin plate of metal or brittle material to a pretreatment including paint coating and others, printing desired patterns with a resist ink on said surfaces, and sand-blasting said surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: Both surfaces of a thin plate to be processed are coated with a hydrophilic nitrocellulose paint, are printed with a resist ink for sand blast such that patterns on both the surfaces are registered using screen printing plates having and identical form and size, and are subjected to sand blast with both the surfaces equally treated, so that portions without resist ink are removed. Then the plate is immersed in water or hot water, washed and brushed to remove the resist film. Thus the resist film durable against the sand blast is obtained due to the synergistic effect of the resist ink and the paint, and therefore labor is saved simply and the accuracy of the processing is increased.
