Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a minute graduation excellent in durability by a method wherein a graduation pattern and the like are printed on a pretreate metallic substrate surface, then the printing ink is hardened and the surface is plated at the nonprinted area thereof. CONSTITUTION:The metallic substrate surface is treated physically, chemically or electrochemically to enhance the adhesion for the ink. After the graduation pattern and the like are printed on the substrate surface by offset, screen or elstic-pad printing, the printing ink is hardened by drying or curing reaction. Then, after cleaning the surface, the surface is plated at the nonprinted area thereof. The graduated surface is then coated with a transparent lacquer or the like to prevent the graduated surface from wear, damage or corrosion.
