Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide enameled steel which can be used for thick film hydrid IC and which has good electrical insulating property, by coating steel sheet with phophate glass or crystallized glass of specified components so as to bring the coefficient of linear thermal expansion near to that of the steel sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A composition is prepared which comprises 40W75mol% P2O5 as A component, 22W55mol% (in total) one or more members among ≤20mol% K2O, ZnO, MgO, B2O3, Al2O3, and ≤55mol% CaO, BaO as B components. A phosphate glass or crystallized glass contg. ≥90% (A and B) components is manufactured and pulveized to form frit. Stainless steel sheet or cold rolled steel sheet having been cleaned and treated to form rough surface is coated with the frit and is baked in the air. This method allows to manufacture enameled steel sheet having coefficient of linear thermal expansion 100W190×10-7/°C, excellent electrical insulating quality, and excellent adhesive property.
