Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a highly-reliable safety device by enabling fuel supply to stop when either of a flame supervising means and a combustible-component detecting means povided in combination detects or diagnoses that there is an improper condition for combustion. CONSTITUTION:When either at least of a flame supervisor 7 and a combustible component detector 16 has detected or diagnosed that there is an improper condition for combustion, the supply of ignition fuel 2 and/or main burner fuel 8 is stopped in accordance with the signal thereof. The detecting ends 17A, 17B and 17C provided in a combustion chamber 1 and a flue 15 detect combustible component and feed signals S1, S2 and S3. When detection value has exceeded allowable level, combustion inadvisable signal S4 is fed to a safety control part 12. On the other hand, the supervisor 7 supervises accidental fire and flame instability and feeds combustion inadvisable signal S5 to the control part 12. If either of S4 and S5 is inputted, the control part 12 closes a pilot shut-off valve 3 and/or main burner shut-off valve 9 to stop the supply of ignition fuel 2 and/or main burner fuel 8.
