Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable letters to be clearly read even when the letters are written with a color chalk and to enable a clear photographic image in photographing to be obtained, by a method wherein a fluorescent substance is incorporated into a chalk.
CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent substance is mixed with a raw material for a chalk such as slaked gypsum. The mixt. is hardened and shaped to a rod or a plate. Examples of the fluorescent substances are fluorescent paints, fluorescent dyes, tungstates, uranyl salts, platinum cyanides, org. solids such as naphthalene, anthracene and inorg. solids such as rare earth salts which effectively emit light at a room temperature. An activator such as manganese, copper may be added to the fluorescent substance.
