Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance sensitivity, resolution, durability, etc., by dispersing a photoconductor powder, obtained by forming a capsule film sealing in a sensitizer on each ZnO particle surface, into a binder chiefly made of a silicone modified resin to provide a photoreceptor.
CONSTITUTION: A ZnO powder is dispersed into a solution of a spectral sensitizer for ZnO, such as "Rose Bengal " having free acid structure and the solvent is evaporated to yield a sensitized ZnO powder with a sensitizer adsorbed, and this ZnO powder is dispersed into a silicone epoxy varnish, the solvent is evaporated, the powder is dried and heat treated to make a photoconductive material with a capsule film on the surface. This photoconductive material is dispersed into a binder resin consisting chiefly of a silicone modified resin, such as a silicone modified urethane resin, and when needed, an acrylic resin or the like, and coated on a conductive substrate to form a photosensitive layer, thus permitting an electrophotographic receptor low in a memory effect, capable of continuous high speed copying, superior in printing resistance, and long in service life to be obtained.
