Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a photosensitive layer of high sensitivity, high initial saturation potential and high abrasion resistance and strength by dispersing a specific amount of photocoductive ZnO particles into the continuous phase of a polyvinyl carbazole type photoconductor in a manner that the particles are independent from each other, thereby sensitizing the same. CONSTITUTION:5-45pts.wt. Photoconductive ZnO particles based on 100pts.wt. a polyvinyl carbazole type photoconductor are dispersed in the continuous phase of polyvinyl carbazole in a manner that the ZnO particles are independent from each other, whereby a photoconductive layer is formed. The ZnO particles to be used are beforehand adsorbed with 0.1-1pt.wt. a dye sensitizer such as Rose bengall based on 100pts.wt. ZnO. This yields the photosensitive layer which is sensitized for visible part rays, has good transparency, and provides a high rate of half-life exposure.
