Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a photoreceptor superior in durability and free of increase of residual potential due to repeated uess, by forming on a conductive substrate a photosensitive layer consisting of selenium-tellurium with halogen added so as to give a specified concentration gradient in tellurium concentration.
CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive layer consisting of a selenium-tellurium alloy containing halogen by 5W500ppm is adjusted in tellurium concentration so as to become 6W18wt% on the side of a substrate, 7W20wt% on the front side, and not more than 3wt% in the difference between the concentrations of both the sides, and the photosensitive layer is provided on the conductive substrate to form an electrophotographic receptor.
