Abstract

893,549. Electrophotographic development. AUSTRALIA, COMMONWEALTH OF. July 29, 1958 [Aug. 5, 1957], No. 24437/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2). Electrostatic charge images are developed in, a liquid developer comprising pigment particles suspended in a liquid of high volume resistivity to which a liquid of lower volume resistivity has been added in order to increase the rate of decay of the image charges and so control the tone of the developed image. The liquid of high volume resistivity may be iso-octane, hexane or "Shellite", and its resistivity may be reduced by the addition of tetrahydronaphthalene, tetrachloro-ethylene or mineral turpentine. Reference also is made to the addition of chloroform or acetone. Specification 835,044 is referred to.
