Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the smoke removing effect still more by a method wherein an electrode support member is provided opposed to an electrode provided to an inner surface of a flow passage and an electrode provided in series to a leading end of said support member is used as a corona discharge electrode.
CONSTITUTION: If high voltage is applied between a discharge electrode 4 and an electroconductive electrode 3, corona ions are rushed to a direction of the electroconductive electrode 3 from a protruded end 12. The corona wind generated from the protruded end 12 is flowed to a direction except the vicinity of a side surface of the discharge electrode 4 and the air stream flowed into a negative pressure portion generated in the vicinity of the leading end of the protruded end 12 is flowed into along a side surface of the electrode 4. The air containing smoke particles, because the electrode 3 is curved, are moved to an effluent side along an electrode 1 from a curved surface of the electrode 3 as shown by an arrow 18. Accordingly the smoke particles are caught by these electrodes and the air flowed into the vicinity of the protruded end 12 is converted to purified air at all times.
