Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a highly efficient magnet of a rare earth cobalt in mass production by forming an ingot on melting and crushing it into powder, which is then formed into a desired shape in the magnetic field by wet or dry method before being dried. CONSTITUTION:Co and Fe are melted in a vacuum, to which Sm, Cu and Ti compounded in a given ratio are added to form an ingot. Then the ingot is crushed into powder having a diameter of 3-5mu, which is inserted into a metal mold in the magnetic field so as to be sufficiently dipped in ethyl alcohol to form into a desired shape, and pressed under a magnetic field strength of 4,000-20,000 Oe and a pressure of 0.2-2ton/cm<2> to obtain a high-density compressed body. Moreover, in the dry method, the powder is mixed with binder, inserted into a metal mold to form into a desired shape, and pressed under a similar magnetic field and pressure to obtain a high-density compressed body, which is dried at a high temperature to obtain a highly efficient magnet.
