Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the desired shape and size and high magnetic characteristics by pulverizing an Mn-Bi alloy cast material solidified by rapid cooling to a specified average particle size without carrying out heat treatment after which the powder is compression-molded and sintered at a specified temp. in a magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: An Mn-Bi alloy cast material solidified by rapid cooling in the casting of molten Mn and Bi is pulverized to powder having 0.5W50μm average particle size without carrying out heat treatment. This Mn-Bi alloy powder is compression- molded and sintered at 250W360°C in a magnetic field having ≥1KOe intensity. Molten Mn and Bi may be directly reduced to powder having 0.5W50μm average particle size with rapid cooling.
