Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an amorphous magnetic material showing no changes with time in magnetic characteristics, by forming alloy composed of Fe, Co, Zr in specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The alloy has a composition, in atomic %, of 70W98% one or two members among Fe, Co, 30W2% Zr. The molten alloy is quenched by roll-quenching method in the atmosphere of Ar in order to manufacture amorphous ribbon. Because said amorphous alloy has excellent stability, magnetic flux density which is increased easily, excellent resistances to corrosion and wear, and a relatively high Curie point, and its magnetostriction is selected suitably for use, it is an excellent material for the magnetic head of an audio device, a VTR device, and a computer etc., and for other electromagnetic transducers.
