Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a decoration material having a covered layer protected from peeling and spot corrosion even in long-term use by covering the surface of an Ni- Cr-Ag alloy having a specified Ag particle area to alloy cross-sectional area ratio with a metal or gold alloy layer.
CONSTITUTION: This decoration material is obtd. by covering the surface of an Ni-Cr-Ag alloy having an Ag particle area to alloy cross-sectional area ratio of 1W30, especially 3W20% with a metal or gold alloy layer. The Ag particles are 1.5W50, especially 5W30μm in diameter and distributed at ≥500, especially 900W 5,000/mm2. This matrix alloy preferably consists of 0.5W3wt% Ag, 5W25wt% Cr and the balance Ni. The covering is carried out by plating, press bonding, vapor deposition or other method, and the thickness of the covered layer is about 0.1W50μm.
