Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the start/stop frequency of pump and to reduce the size of suction tank, by anticipating the variation of water level in the suction tank and setting the starting time point of pump from the anticipated level.
CONSTITUTION: The suction side of pump 1 is submerged into a suction tank 2 while the delivery side is connected through a valve 3 with a delivery tube 4. The driving machine 5 such as gasoline engine is coupled through a coupling with a pump 1. A water level meter 7 will convert the water level in the suction tank 2 to an electric signal which is provided to an arithmetic unit 8. The arithmetic unit 8 will calculate the variation of water level which is used to provide a command for performing the starting/stopping of pump 1 to a start/stop device 9.
