Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the reduction in the charging time of a main capacitor and make possible continuous flash photographing with a motor drive by selecting time constant resistances to control the timing for discharge stop thereby decreasing the quantity of the light emitted. CONSTITUTION:If the guide number of a flash device is changed over by way of a switch, the corresponding resistances 38-40 are selected by a switch 48 cooperating therewith and their time constants determined together with a capacitor 37 change. As a result, the time when the emission stop control current through a thyristor 20 owing to discharging of a capacitor 34 via a transistor 35 conducting upon emission of a flash tube 19 reaches predetermined current value is controlled, and the quantity of the light emitted by the discharge tube 19 becomes less. This results in the decreased charging time of the main capacitor 5 after the emission of flash and the stabilized quantity of the light emitted at less and constant quantity, thus the continuous flash photographing through motor drive controlling may be performed.
