PURPOSE:To simply obtain the proper exposure, by automatically controlling the light volume in the multiflash photography when the distance is short between a flash device and a subject. CONSTITUTION:Either SCR63 or 64 that receives first the application of signal works to control the light emission of a discharge tube 47. Thus a control circuit including the SCR63, a variable resistance 82, an integral capacitor 84, a resistance 85 and a capacitor 86 works as an automatic light controller. In this case, the signal is applied first to the SCR64 in case the distance is short between a flash device and a subject. Thus the SCR64 works first to actuate the automatic light controller. As a result, the light volume is reduced compared with the case when the distance is long between the flash device and the subject. In such a way, the light volume is automatically controlled in the multiflash photography and when the distance is short between the flash device and the subject. Thus the proper exposure is made possible in a simple way.
