Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required for polling to improve the use efficiency of the communication line, by connecting the central unit and terminal units into a loop by the control line and by arranging them so that the transmission-enable-signal may pass through them in order of the priority level in data communication. CONSTITUTION:Transmission-enable-control parts of terminal units 12a-12d are branched and connected to data transmission and receiving line 13, which is connected to data transmission and receiving part 15 of central unit 11, through the branching line. Central unit 11 and terminal units are connected into a loop by control line 14; and when central unit 11 transmits a polling sequence from data transmitting and receiving part 15, the transmission-enable-signal is input to transmission-enable-signal receiving part 31 of terminal unit 12a of the highest priority level in data communication. When the transmission request flip-flop is set, the transmission-enable-signal is held in this receiving part 31, and transmission to adjacent terminal unit 12b is stopped, and data is transmitted from data transmitting and receiving part 21a.
