Abstract
PURPOSE: To keep the metal temperature of an inlet port for the secondary combustion air within a tolerable range, by maintaining a required amount of fluid to be supplied into the furnace from the inlet port for the secondary combustion air by means of dampers capable of increasing the amount of recirculated gas for secondary combustion even if the amount of the secondary combustion air is restricted by uncombusted gas and CO.
CONSTITUTION: Combusting air supplied from a forced draft fan 1 is divided two parts, one to be supplied to main burners 5aW5c and the other to be used as the secondary combustion air. Then, air thus divided into two parts is introduced into a furnace 7. On the other hand, recirculated gas carried via a flue 2 by a fan 3 is also divided into two parts by means of dampers 8a, 8b capable of changing their openings, one to be supplied to main burners 5aW5c and the other to be used as the secondary combustion air. The former is mixed with combusting air in a mixer 4a and then introduced into furnace 7 from main burners 5aW5c, whereas the latter is mixed with the secondary combustion air in another mixer 4b and then introduced into furnace 7 from an air inlet port 6.
