Abstract

PURPOSE: To make every effort for dwindling engenderment of NOx in such a way that NOx engendered after two-stage combustion is converted into N2 by O2 by fuel and exhaust from an after-burner, and further unlurned lot is brought into combustion with use of after-air.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel from main burners 24-1, 24-2 is made two-stage combustion by air from main air registers 6-3, 6-5 and over-fire air nozzles 6-7 for repressing engenderment of NOx at the same time as NOx engendered after two-stage combustion is converted into N2, HCN, NH3, etc. by fuel from an after-burner 25-1. Further, after converting these HCN, NH3, into N2 by a small amount of O2 in the exhaust, the engenderment of NOx is effectively dwindled by having the unburned lot burned by after-air from the after-air nozzles 6-11.
