Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish reduction in the amount of NOx to be discharged even when the amount of a primary air is around the theoretical value through dispersion of more than 4% of the gross combustion heat by means of a flame hole plate made of a thick metal having a higher heat conductivity.
CONSTITUTION: A pre-mixed gas of a gaseous fuel and primary air in an amount less than the theoretical value is fed into a gas mixing chamber 11 through an inlet port 12. The gas thus mixed flows down into a flame hole 6 to form an inner flame, while forming a large flame at a heat exchanger member 7. On the other hand, a secondary air fed through an inlet port 13 is jetted from an air hole 4 through a passage 2 to be fed into the outer flame section, where the air is mixed with a partly burned gas containing CO, H2 and the like from the hole 6 to perform a complete combustion. In this process, the heat received by the hole 6 is transmitted to the air in the passage 2 and the hole 4, thus lowering the temperature of the flame. Accordingly, the amount of NOx being discharged when the amount of the primary air is around the theoretical value is lowered, while no overheating occurs to a burner element 1
