Abstract

PURPOSE: To simply save the amount of fuel by a method wherein part of waste gas containing unburnt component is jetted into the heating furnace as a diluting gas and mixed with combusted gas, and the mixed gas is mixed with the remaining waste gas and heated to a temperature of denox reaction.
CONSTITUTION: A combusting oxygen source such as air or waste gas is used as a fuel for combustion. This combusted gas is projected from the burner 13 in the combustion chamber 11, and part of waste gas containing unburnt component such as Co or hydrocarbon, e.g., sintered waste gas, is injected from the branch duct 17 as a diluting gas. As a result, the temperature of the combusted gas is decreased and at the same time the unburnt combponent in the diluting waste gas oxidizes and generates heat. In this process, a preferable condition is a combusted gas temperature at 750W1,000°C which is maintained by controlling the amount of diluting gas with the flow damper 18, and a gas staying time in the combustion chamber 11 maintained at 0.5W1sec. Then, the mixed gas is guided to the mixing chamber 12 through hot draft duct 14 to be mixed with the remaining waste gas from the duct 15, and the mixed gas is raised to about 400°C, or denox reaction temperature, and is guided through duct 16 into the denox reactor.
