Abstract

PURPOSE:To restrict the real output of an electricity generator below a set upper limit, by controlling the flow rate of the water wheel depending on the difference between the water wheel's real flow rate and a command when the real output of the generator is not higher than the set upper limit but depending on the difference between the real output of the generator an the set upper limit when the real output is higher than the upper limit. CONSTITUTION:A function generator F3 calculates the final guide vane opening degree command G' of the water wheel on the basis of the differesce HST between the water level of an upper reservoir and that of a lower reservoir and a command QR for the flow rate of the water wheel. A lower level priority circuit LVG selects the smaller of a deviation signal between the final guide vane opening degree command G' and a real guide vane opening degree GA' and a deviation signal between the real otuput WA of the electricity generator and a set uper limit WMAX for the output of the generator so that the selected signal is applied to a guide vane drive circuit T'. As a result, the output of the electricity generator can be restricted not to exceed the upper limit even if the flow rate characteristic of the water wheel and its output characteristic change.
