Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify and miniaturize an entire device by constituting coaxially the piston rod of a compressor of reciprocating-motion type and the piston rod of a two- cycle engine.
CONSTITUTION: Piston rods of left and right two-cycle engines 4 and 5 and the piston rod of a compressor 2 positioned intermediately are constituted as a coaxial piston rod 13. The phases of engine cycles are adjusted so that explosion and exhaust of one engine are matched with suction and compressing stroke of the other engine, and simultaneously, as for the compressor 2, refrigerant-compressing spaces 32 and 33 are provided with a piston 12 between inside a cylinder 3 so that the refrigerant can be compressed by either motion of the reciprocating movement. In addition, fresh-air compressing spaces 26 and 27 are set respectively on the opposite sides of combustion chambers 28 and 29 within cylinders 6 and 7 and the fresh air inside these fresh-air compressing spaces 26 and 27 is compressed by the driving of one engine opposed to the other.
