Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of obstacles in an ink passage by a method wherein a flat base plate provided with an ink jet port on its surface and a flat base plate for covering the ink jet port are jointed to each other through a thin metal film. CONSTITUTION:Grooves for constituting the ink jet port 2, an ink supply passage 3 and a pressure chamber 4, respectively, are formed on the flat base plate 1 by etching and machining. The flat base plate 5 having an opening corresponding to the pressure chamber 4 is jointed to the flat base plate 1 so as to cover the grooves, thereby providing the ink jet port 2, the ink supply passage 3 and the pressure chamber 4. The plates 1 and 5 are jointed through the thin metal film. During recording operation, applying a piezoelectric element 6 with an electric field in accordance with the information signal causes a flexible plate 8 to bend toward the inside of the pressure chamber 4. In this case, when the rapid change in volume of the pressure chamber 4 reaches to the orifice, the ink droplets 10 are jetted out in accordance with the amount of the change and are deposited on the object body 11 of recording, to produce a record on the body 11.
