Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a combustion method which makes possible to increase the volume of oil that can be burnt and suppress the generation of nitrogen oxides end smoke dust when burning crude oil including heavy constituents or heavy oil.
CONSTITUTION: To heavy oil or crude oil including heavy constituents, water is added by a water injection pump 1, while they are passed through a mixer 2 and changed into the emulsion of fuel oil and water, then the emulsion is heated and sprayed into a gasification accelerating chamber 4 by an atomizing burner 3. The fuel oil is ignited by an ignition plug 5 introduced to the gasification accelerating chamber 4. On the other hand, hot gas generated by a hot gas generator 6 using heavy oil of the same kind of oil is pressurized and passes a passage 7 and flows into the gasification accelerating chamber 4 swirling at high speeds through tangential jets 8. By so doing, atomized oil drops and hot gas are mixed while they swirl, fuel oil thereby forms intermediate products of hydrocarbon including oxygen, while they flow into a combustion chamber 12 and burn via a wind box 9 and register vanes 10.
