Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a laminated core chip under easy control over alloy composition in a short time by sticking Fe-Si-Al alloy powder to a thin metal film, evaporation- deposited on a ceramic substrate, by electrophoresis and then by heating it by scanning a high-density energy beam.
CONSTITUTION: In manufacture of a laminated core chip suitable for manufacture, especially, of a VTR magnetic head, metal such as Ti and nonmagnetic stainless steel is evaporation-deposited to 1μ or less on the surface of a ceramic (forsterite alumina, etc.) substrate. On this thin film, an Fe-Si-Al porous alloy film of a fixed thickness is formed by sticking Fe-Si-Al alloy powder in the electrophoresis method. After drying, the alloy film is sintered by irradiating it with a high-energy beam such as a laser beam and electron beam to obtain a core chip material of nearly ideal density that has excellent magnetic characteristics and wear resistance while having no defective such as a pinhole. This material is cut in a required shape with a CO2 laser beam to obtain an alumina base, which is annealed in Ar gas to remove strain. Thus, the lamination core chip is manufactured.
