Abstract
PURPOSE: To permit a circuit having a comparatively simple constitution to obtain the DC voltage corresponding to the power-factor cosψ by obtaining an average of the positive or negative half-cycle voltages of the input voltage in order to divide by the average.
CONSTITUTION: An output current A and an output voltage C taken out from current transformers CT and PT are converted into rectangular-wave outputs B and D in waveform-shaping circuits 1 and 2 respectively. The input voltage C is sent through a delay circuit 3 to switching circuits 4 and 5 controlled the outputs B and D respectively. Switching outputs E and F obtained from the circuits 4 and 5 are integrated in integrating circuits 6 and 7 respectively, from which DC voltage outputs G and H are obtained. Then, a value G/H is obtained by a division circuit 8 and thus an output corresponding to cosψ is obtained. Moreover, the outputs B and D of the circuits 1 and 2 are inputted to a phase discriminating circuit 10, in which the lead or lag of the phase is detected to obtain an output I. Based on the output I, the output of the circuit 8, which is smoothed in a smoothing circuit 9, is provided with a code in an encoding circuit 11. Then, a DC voltage signal having a controlled output voltage level is outputted from a scaling circuit 12.
