Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the bonding strength of a film to a substrate steel sheet by thinly coating the sheet with a specified resin and dry or wet applying enamel frit composite powder to the sheet.
CONSTITUTION: A steel sheet is thinly coated with methacrylic acid ester or acrylic acid ester resin and used as a substrate. Enamal frit composite powder coated with acrylic acid ester resin is dry applied to the sheet, or a mixture of resin, solvent enamel frit is wet applied to the sheet and dried. The frit particles are usually of 2W50μ. By this method the bonding strength of the resulting film to the substrate sheet is enhanced, and the film is not peeled off by hot and cold bending, drawing and other working. Thus, half-finished enameled ware capable of subjecting to high-degree working is obtd.
