Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the adhesiveness of a fluorine-containing resin film formed on an enameled metal surface, by coating the surface of a metal article with an undercoat enamel, applying a slip, which contains specified components, as an undercoat onto the enameled surface, and forming the fluorine-containing resin film onto the slip layer.
CONSTITUTION: For coating an undercoat-enameled metal article such as steel with a fluorine-containing resin film, the metal article is preparatively undercoated with a slip containing 100pts.wt. frit, 5W15pts.wt. clay, 15W40pts.wt. alumina and 0W3pts.wt. borax, by a spray method or the like. The said frit consists of 40W 55wt% SiO2, 5W10wt% Al2O3, 10W20wt% B2O3, 2W10wt% CaO, 15W25wt% R2O and 0.5W6wt% F (R2O represents the sum of alkali metal oxides). After dried, the undercoat layer is baked about 3W7min at about 800W860°C. Thereafter, the surface is further coated with the fluorine-containing resin. The adhesiveness of the fluorine-containing resin film is remarkably enhanced because of the under coat layer.
