Abstract

PURPOSE: To spheroidize the carbide in steel uniformly in a short time to proper grain sizes and considerably improve the cold workability of steel materials by annealing the hot-rolled steel materials having intermediate stage structure at the specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A steel material contg. 0.20W0.50% carbon, 0.50W1.50% chromium and acid-soluble Al 0.005W0.10% is subjected to hot finish rolling, after which it is quickly cooled to a temperature of 550°CWMS point. The steel material thus made into intermediate stage structure is used as a blank material and this is annealed at a temperature range of 650°CWA1 transformation point. Namely, the hot-rolled steel material having the above-mentioned components and intermediate stage structure is charged directly into an annealing furnace without being subjected to drawing and heat treatment, whereby the carbide in the steel is spheroidized uniformly within a short time.
