Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain sheets or metal parts of desired shapes by molding metal powder together with binders, dispersants, etc. into a green sheet, molding this green sheet to a predetermined shape and sintering the same.
CONSTITUTION: Metal powder is mixed with binders, dispersants, plasticizers and organic solvents to a slurry. Polyvinyl butyral resin is mainly used for the binder, sorbitan trioleate for the dispersant, dibutyl phthalate for the plasticizer and methyl ethyl ketone or methanol for the organic solvent. This slurry is cast continuously to a moving film by a doctor blade method to form a green sheet of predetermined thickness. The flexible green sheet thus formed is subjected to deforming with a press, blanking and cutting to a desired shape, thence to sintering.
