Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the affinity of a collector to adhesive and to improve the discharge characteristic and shelf-life of a battery by coating a conductive thermoplastic adhesive, the main component of which is a saturated copolymerized polyester resin, onto a metal collector. CONSTITUTION:A conductive thermoplastic adhesive 2 is coated directly onto the inside surface of a metal foil 1 which serves as a positive terminal or negative terminal comprising a plate of anitcorrosion metal such as nickel, iron, aluminum, or stainless steel, dried, and a carbon film 3 is laminated by heating and pressing to form a negative metal collector 4 or positive metal collector 8. The conductive thermoplastic adhesive 2 is prepared by dissolving and mixing a saturated copolymerized polyester resin which is formed from terephtalic acid and saturated polyhydric alcohol and powder of carbon such as graphite or acetylene black.
