Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce heat load upon an evaporator, decrease the rate of operation of a compresor and economize motive power, by setting the quantity of introduced external air depending on the temperature of a passenger room and the external air and a set temperature and sufficiently utilizing the temperature of the external air. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 9 calculates a quantity of introduced external air from a detection signal from a detector 10 which finds out whether an air mixing gate 8 is located on a fully cooling side or not, a set signal from a temperature setting unit 11 and detection signals from a passenger room temperature detector 12 and an external air temperature detector 13. An actuator 4 is operated in accordance with a control signal supplied from the microcomputer 9 to regulate the degree of opening of an inside and outside changeover gate 1 to selectively introduce internal or external air. The temperature of the external air is utilized enough to reduce heat load upon an evaporator and decrease the rate of operation of a compressor to economize motive power.
