Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an extra consumption of energy and obtain an appropriate air conditioning by interrupting a compressor driving of an air conditioner for an automobile at an interval determined by a predetermined interruption ratio to make a correction to the air conditioning control within a passenger compartment. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 15 receives various signals from a passenger compartment temperature sensor 10, an outdoor temperature sensor 12, a temperature setter 13 and a cool air sensor 6. When the microcomputer 15 determines on the basis of these input signals that the difference between the current passenger compartment temperature and a preset temperature is larger than an initial temperature difference, the compressor 5 is driven and a damper 8 is opened to its full extent. Next an actuator 17 is controlled so as to approach the opening degree of the damper which is represented by a signal from a damper opening sensor 11 to 100% according to a damper opening adjusting routine 400. Then the control goes through an operation routine 500 for various controls and finally returns to a temperature control routine 300. This series of operations are repeated periodically so that the damper 8 can be held at its maximum cooling position, thereby saving the energy even in a normal operation of the air conditioner and obtaining an optimum air conditioning control.
