Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the form machining for a complex shape with high speed and high efficinecy by providing an oscillating device giving the oscillation to the whole of wire, guide and electrode for machining and to a body to be machined or the machining liquid supplied. CONSTITUTION:When an electric discharge is made between a wire 1 and a body to be machined 11 by a machining pulse supplied by a power source 16 for machining, the series resonance circuit of an oscillator 18 and an inductance 21 oscillates and the resonance current flows to the oscillator 18 to generate the high-frequency oscillation, which acts on the wire 1 from a tip member 20 through a horn 19. The high-frequency oscillation of the wire 1 is transmitted to a machining part opposed to the body to be machined, making the part of the wire 1 guided perform the high-frequency oscillation. By this oscillation of the wire, the effect for removing the machined waste and gas produced in the groove of the machining part is raised, the fluidity of the machining liquid is made excellent, while electrodischarge points being scattered and geneated evenly in the whole of the machining part, thus the form machining of the body to be machined being performed with high effieincy and precision.
