Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the productivity and enable the automation as well as the attainment of smaller-sized and lighter tools by using the method of wrenching off a rivet head by a rivet head cutter.
CONSTITUTION: The main body 8 of a rivet head cutter is put on a rivet head 4 and rotated by a rotary driving tool 11 connected with the main body 8. Then, since the axis of the head 4 in a fixed state is brought in line with the rotational center of the main body 8, the head 4 is wrenched through the intermediary of the plane part 9a of the hole 9 of the main body 8 and the plane part 4a of the head 4 and cut off. In this case, the stress is concentrated on the corner part of the joint of the head 4 to a rivet shaft and thus the wrenching-off by the rotational force is performed at the corner part of the joint, i.e. the base of the head 4.
