Abstract
PURPOSE: In a tool fixing device for a machining center, to reduce the eccentric moment of a tool holder while to eliminate the vibration during the high speed rotation and to improve the work accuracy by matching the outercircumferential face of an eccentric ring with the center or rotation of a shank.
CONSTITUTION: A tool holder 13 is secured rotatably against a shank 11 through an eccentric ring 12. When fixing a cutting tool to said holder 13 and performing the boring, said holder 13 is rotated slightly against the shank 11 in order to set the boring size near to 0.01mm. In order to prevent the induction of the eccentric moment, one or both outer faces (e), (f), (g) of the eccentric ring 12 and the holder 13 are cut in two step while matching to the center of rotation of the shank 11 thus to reduce the eccentric mass which is the unballance weight between the eccentric ring 12 and the holder 13 against the center of rotation of the shank.
