Abstract
PURPOSE:To stabilize an ink jet, by a method wherein the gas dissolved in the ink in an ink container is degassed by reducing the pressure in the ink container. CONSTITUTION:Ink particles 2, which are jetted and produced by a manifold 1 and have not bean used for the printing, are recovered by means of a gutter 3. After said ink particles are once stored in the ink container 4, they are pressurized by a pump 5 and are fed to the manifold 1 again. The ink container 4 is connected to a vacuum pump 10, serving as a pressure reducing means, through a needle valve 15. Since the solubility of a gas is proportional to the pressure thereof, the reduction of the pressure in the ink container decreases the volume of the gas dissolved in ink. Since the amt. of a gas dissolved in an ink is less the higher the temp. of a solution, means for heating the ink to a given temp. such as heater 13, temp. detector 11, temp. controller 12, and a cooling device 14 are installed in addn. to the above described constitution.
