Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively and easily manufacture the bundle fibers having precise dimensions, by jointly coating optical filaments through nozzle holes provided along the path for drawing out respectively independent optical fibers, when said filaments respectively pass through said nozzle holes mutually having specified intervals.
CONSTITUTION: For example, core glass material contained in the plural interior crucibles 1 and clad glass material contained in the exterior crucible 2, are respectively melted by the heating source 5, and said melted material is then drawn out of the spinning nozzles 4aW4e, and spun into the optical fiber filaments 6aW6e. Said optical fiber filaments are then adjusted at the portion typically illustrated by the chain lines 7 along the feeding paths so that they are mutually set at specified intervals each other. Said filaments 6aW6e are then fed into the container 12 equipped with nozzle holes at specified intervals, for example, by leading them through the coating vessel 9 filled with silicone resin, so that the bundle fibers 10 jointly coated with resin are formed, which are then heated and hardened by means of the heating furnace 11.
