Abstract
PURPOSE: To regenerate adsorbent and to recover SO2 of high concn. efficiently, by flowing the adsorbent down through two, upper and lower, moving beds which are kept respectively at a prescribed temp. so as to treat the SO3 produced by decomposition in a prescribed manner in regeneration of the adsorbent having adsorbed SO2 contained in exhaust gas into which NH3 is injected.
CONSTITUTION: In regeneration of carbonaceous adsorbent for SO2 after use in treatment of SO2-contg. exhaust gas to which NH3 is injected, said impoverished adsorbent, a catalyst, is flowed down into a regenerator 1 consisting of two, upper and lower, moving beds. The catalyst first enters the upper moving bed 2 kept at 150W300°C temp., where it comes into contact with a gas contg. SO2, SO3, NH3 sent from the lower moving bed through a line 8, and captures the SO3 and the NH3 as sulfate. Then the catalyst is transferred to the lower moving bed, where it passes while contacting with inert gas introduced through a pipe 3 and is heated to 300W650°C temp. by heating gas 6, and SO2, SO3, NH3 formed by decomposition is sent to the bed 2 as described above. The adsorbent is regenerated in a separation zone 7, simultaneously highly concd. SO2 contg. no SO3, NH3 is recovered through a pipe 10.
