Description

The use of chlorine for the regeneration of activated carbon used in the process of purifying wastewater from tetraethyl lead is known.

The described method of activated carbon regeneration using chlorine is provided for coals saturated with tra-ethyl lead vapor in the process of air purification and other gases. The method allows the recovery of the activity of the coal and the extraction of lead from it.

The process is based on the fact that the regeneration is carried out with a mixture of chlorine and air with respect to 1; 500 followed by washing of lead chloride with hot water.

The method is carried out as follows.

Spent tetraethyl lead saturated with vapor, directly in the adsorber, the sorbent is treated with chlorine gas mixed with air in a volume ratio of about 1: 500. The gas-air mixture is absorbed through the layer of the spent sorbent, while this lead and lead-organic compounds interact with chlorine and transfer into lead chloride. Chlorine consumption, in terms of lead tetraethyl, is 0.7-0.75 kg per kg of lead tetraethyl.

Adding air to the chlorine gas contributes to the uniform distribution of chlorine in the coal layer and avoids its local overheating.

Степень вымывани  хлористого свинца из сорбента-85-90%,Lead chloride is washed out of the sorbent with hot water at 80–95. Water consumption per 1 kg of sorbent is 50–55 l. The degree of leaching of lead chloride from the sorbent is 85-90%,

Из промывных вод свинец может быть прибавлением к ним сульфатов (сернокислого натри  или магни ) или сернистых соединений .From wash water, lead can be the addition of sulphates (sodium or magnesium sulphate) or sulfur compounds to them.

After drying, the regenerated sorbent is used for its intended purpose.

Subject invention

The method of regenerating activated carbon, saturated with tetraethyl lead, with the aid of chlorine, is otlichayuschie and so that, in order to restore the activity of the coal and remove lead, the regeneration is performed with a mixture of chlorine and air in relation to 1: 500 with subsequent washing of the resulting chloride lead hot water.
