Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform continuous, uniform sulfide coloring of a copperplated plate by immersing and passing the plate through high-concentration aqueous potassium solution jetted into the same solution of low concentration. CONSTITUTION:A tank 3 is filled with, for example, aqueous potassium sulfide solution less than 0.2mol/l in molar concentration, and the solutionis circulated by a pump 4. High-concentration potassium sulfide aqueous solution having molar concentration 5 times as high as the solution in the tank is jetted from nozzles 5 by the pump 4. Material being treated 1 is continuously immersed in the aqueous solution in the tank 3 through rollers 2 so that the material passes through the jet streamed condition of the high concentration potassium sulfide solution. The process forms sulfide colored layer on the surface of the material 1. The process thus allows continuous and uniform sulfide coloring treatment of the same color tone, while reducing oxidation of the treating liquid by jet agitation.
