Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve durability of an orbital sanding machine by eliminating elastic member in the oscillating construction for checking the rotation by such a design that pad mounting member is fitted eccentrically, the number of cogs of a wheel provide at the outside circumference of the pad mounting member is the same as that of cogs provided at the interior wall of the body, and these cogs are in engagement in part of the wheels.
CONSTITUTION: A pad mounting member 5 is put on the outside circumference of a bearing 9 solidly, which is put on the outside circumference of a bearing housing 3a. This pad mounting member 5 has a gear part 5a at the outer part of where the bearing is fitted, and ensures free fitting and removal of a pad 7. In the body 1, an internal gear 4 is provided, whose cogs 4a shall be in engagement with the cogs of the wheel 5a formed solidly with the pad mounting member 5 at their parts of circumferences. The inside diameter of the internal gear 4a is larger than the outside diameter of the wheel 5a, and their numbers of cogs shall be the same. The pad mounting member 5 is installed eccentrically to the axis of the air motor shaft to allow the pad mounting member 5 to perform only oscillation in the intended mode.
