Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct skew distortion securely by holding a voltage that corresponds to the quantity of skew after detecting the skew quantity by a phase detector and by controlling a voltage control oscillator for driving a charge transfer element by the held voltage. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced signal from terminal 1 is separated by synchronous separating circuit 2 into a horizontal synchronizing signal, which has its phase shift detected by phase detector 3. Then, since phase detector 3, filter circuit 4 and voltage control oscillator 5 constitute an AFC circuit, a voltage that correspond to a skew quantity is developed at the output of phase detector 3. The 1st peak value of the output signal voltage of this phase detector 3 is held by voltage holding circuit 9 by use of a signal from head switching signal input terminal 10. Further, voltage control oscillator 6 that drives charge transfer element 7 is controlled by the output signal of this voltage holding circuit 9.
