Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled compound useful as a polymer modifier, etc. economically, in an industrial scale, by reacting a silicon halide compound with a cyanic acid salt, etc. in the presence of a reaction accelerator such as an alkylamine, a nitroalkane, a crown ether, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound of formula VI is prepared by reacting (A) a silicon halide compound of formula I (R is hydrocarbon, alkoxy, etc.; X is halogen; n is 0 or an integer of 1W3), e.g. dimethyldichlorosilane with (B) a cyanic acid salt or an isocyanic acid salt of formula II or III [M is alkali(ne earth) metal or ammonium; n' is 1 or 2] in the presence of (C) a reaction accelerator selected from alkylamines, nitroalkanes, crown ethers of formula IV, V, etc.
